Dr. Mohammad Aljaradin is an Associate Professor in Sustainability and Environmental Engineering and a globally recognized leader in environmental and sustainability education. He has held positions at prestigious institutions worldwide, including Lund University (Sweden), Hamburg University (Germany), the University of Wisconsin (USA), the University of New South Wales (Australia), and Tafila Technical University (Jordan).
Dr. Aljaradin is a recipient of prominent fellowships, including the Endeavour Fellowship in Australia and the Fulbright Research Fellowship in the United States. He is a passionate advocate for sustainability and environmental stewardship, contributing to international NGOs, charitable foundations, and community initiatives.
Dr. has mentored and graduated hundreds of engineers and Ph.D. students, advancing research and practice in sustainable solutions, environmental governance, and interdisciplinary education, shaping a generation of leaders ready to address complex environmental and societal challenges.
Dr. Mohammad Aljaradin is an Associate Professor and Program coordinator at the School of Sustainability and Green Economy at HBMSU. He is a globally respected educator, researcher, and academic leader in the fields of environmental engineering, sustainability science, and digital pedagogy. With over 25 years of international experience across Sweden, the UAE, Jordan, Germany, Australia and the USA, he has taught and developed courses at all levels, from undergraduate to doctoral and executive education. At HBMSU, he designs and teaches advanced interdisciplinary courses including Introduction to Sustainability, Environmental Sustainability, Environmental Economics, Integrated Water Resources Management, Climate Change, Environmental Law, Risk Management, and Sustainable Development.
Dr. Aljaradin is recognized as a visionary leader in sustainability transformation, environmental governance, and academic innovation. He has demonstrated high-impact leadership in international academic development by leading major curriculum initiatives, and managing accreditation and strategic planning processes. He has also served in faculty governance and administrative roles as Head of Department and Department Chair, contributing to departmental, college, and university service. In academic publishing, he is the Editor-in-Chief of the Sustainable Resources Management Journal (Sweden) and the International Journal of Excellence in Environmental Management, while also serving on editorial boards of several international journals. Furthermore, he is a review panelist for Horizon Europe, PRIMA, and other international funding agencies, providing expert evaluations on sustainability-related proposals.
Beyond academia, Dr. Aljaradin actively participates in international NGOs and organizations that protect people and the environment, including Engineers Without Borders, Final Cycles, and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). He has been invited to speak at major global conferences and scientific forums, such as Dubai AI Week, DEWA Sustainability Week, and the Youth Climate Leaders Camp by ICESCO, where he addressed topics ranging from AI in education to sustainable infrastructure and policy innovation. His research interests focus on developing sustainable solutions and assessing the environmental impacts of industrial and human activities. He advises policymakers on environmental best practices and promotes awareness within the critical nexus of water, waste, soil, renewable energy, food security, agriculture, and climate change.
