Celebrating Champions of Quality and Customer Focus in the Arab World

The Kano Medal was created to encourage professionals dedicated to facilitating the introduction of quality concepts and implementing excellence practices in organizations. Rooted in the legacy of Professor Kano, whose Kano Model is widely taught and applied in quality programs across the world, the medal highlights individuals who spark momentum in driving quality and delivering value to customers. 

How to Submit?

  • Open to men and women from both the public and private sectors.
  • Candidates must either reside in an Arab country or have made a major contribution positively impacting the Arab region.
  • Nominations must come from the candidate’s current employer organization. 

Applicants must submit the following:

  • Completed Medal Nomination Form.
  • An official nomination and endorsement letter from the Director General, General Manager, or CEO.
  • A written statement describing key contributions and achievements, aligned with medal criteria.
  • Three external letters of support from professional associations, quality organizations, or other relevant bodies (referees may be contacted by the jury).
  • Up to five pages of supporting evidence, such as certificates, photographs, or documents demonstrating contributions. 
  • Submission Deadline: Nominations must be received by the date announced in HBMSU’s official call for the Kano Medal (submissions received after the stated deadline will not be considered).
  • Award: Recipients are conferred the Kano Medal with an official HBMSU certificate of recognition. Awardees are highlighted on HBMSU channels and may be invited to share their practices with the community.
  • The jury may contact listed referees and will assess submissions against the medal criteria based on the required dossier (official endorsement, contribution statement, external letters of support, and up to five pages of evidence).
