Driving Organizational Sustainability through CSR Excellence

The award is named in honor of Dr. Farouk El-Baz, renowned scientist who played a vital role in the Apollo Program as Supervisor of Lunar Science Planning for NASA. The El Baz Award recognizes organizations that demonstrate outstanding CSR practices and sustainable strategies with measurable impact across diverse sectors. It aims to inspire organizations to integrate sustainability at all levels, fostering long-term competitiveness and societal value creation. 

How to Submit?

The award is open to organizations from different sectors, including:

  • Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)
  • Public Sector Entities
  • Not-for-Profit Private Sector
  • Large Manufacturing Organizations
  • Large Service Organizations
  • Subsidiaries (eligible if practices can be verified within the entity’s own context rather than at corporate level) 

Submissions must include an Award Submission Document covering:

  • Statement of commitment to CSR/Sustainable performance within organizational strategy.
  • Philosophy and Practice: methods for creating an environment that supports sustainable excellence aligned with award criteria.
  • Performance: impact of the organization across five dimensions — economic, internal capability, external stakeholder, competitiveness, and CSR measures.
  • Core competencies and competitive advantages in relevant areas.
  • Benefits realized and future plans for CSR/Sustainability. 
    Applications are evaluated by an international panel and must be submitted in English.

The deadline for applications is 30 September 2024. Awardees will receive official recognition, a certificate of distinction, and inclusion among El Baz Award recipients.
